On June 1, 2000, we took an common idea we shared and brought it to reality.  We have combined those ideas and our talents, along with the talents of our members put the Garden of Friendship together along with all the sites managed by our committees.

The Garden of Friendship started out much the same as any other Internet group.  We combined our ideas, made suggestions, created graphics, and brought this site together.  We determined the best way to establish a web presence was with our own domain name and so gardenoffriendship.org was born, and on July 1, 2000 our site was online. 

Our members come from all walks of life, and knowledge of our site comes greatly through word of mouth, others find us through a link on a member's page, and our recruiting committee does a fabulous job as well.  Everyone who visits us in The Garden is treated equally with respect and love...  There are no prejudices found here. 

There are many activities, committees and causes in The Garden which allow our members to interact with one another, building friendships that otherwise may have never been found.  We provide every means of keeping the communication lines open and are always here when you need us. 

Our site includes email lists and website urls for our members including photographs where available, mailing lists for the committees, several webrings, a message forum, a monthly newsletter, our own Graphics Studio and Adoption Shoppe and much more. 

Membership in The Garden of Friendship is open to everyone - men and women, however you must be at least 18 years of age.  Our only rule is that your site does not contain profanity, adult content, or pornography.  Sites must be family friendly. Our invitation is extended to all walks of life, all religions, all ethnics, and we show no prejudices.  We do ask that all members do play an active role and contribute to this site in one way or another. 

We hope this provides you with an idea of what The Garden is all about and what our mission is.  We would like to extend an invitation for you to join us as a member and walk through our Garden.  We realize that this group may not be for  everyone and would like to thank you for taking the time to visit us.   If you would like to join us, please take the time to read our Creed, our Charter, and our Rules and Regulations, and if you are still interested in joining our group, please  complete the membership application, and you will hear back from us shortly.
