Winds of Change
The gentle breath of morning
the whispers of the wind
The kaleidescope of colours
the changing season brings
An array of earthly beauty
begins this time of year
And so another journey
comes on a flood of tears
The changing of the seasons
begins with life anew
But first the shedding of the old
transcends this interlude
And on one bright clear morning
those seasons came to pass
Within the gentle whisper
of a life that breathed its last
The silence was resounding
an echo in the hearts
The vision of an emptiness
where life was once a part
The heartache that this season
should bring a painful change
When a love so unconditional
leaves this world today.
But the gentle breath that morning
the whisper in the breeze
May have taken something great
but not the memories -
For to everything's a season
and with it winds of change
When that precious gift she gave in life
was returned to her again.

....Forever in my heart....
October's Glory
The Wheel turns
Summer dancing fleet footed
Her final steps of fire
Burning slowly into embers.
Autumn steps on stage
Bowing flutters of leaves
Drifting, whirling, spinning
A furious Tarentella.
Then, sifting to the earth
Landing with skeletal paper
Whisperings of their death
Awaiting flying footsteps to crunch their fatal sigh.
October deftly weaving her spell of change
Warp and weft dancing in tandem
A blanket of russet and gold
Unfolding on the loom.
The Wheel turns
The change is upon the land
Lowering, glowering steel skies
Dark clouds pregnant with chill rain.
October wind, always tempestuous
Not the sweet kiss of Summer's wind
Blusters in shaking loose
The driving sleet.
And the Harvest Moon shines
Jack o lantern orangey grin
Hung low and gravid
In a pocket black sky.
The Wheel has turned
Change of seasons marking time
Summer slumbers now
While Autumn dances the Tarentella.

Let the Balloon Go
Times and seasons change
As year rolls on to year,
An endless kaleidoscope
Of love and hope and fear.
To each and every one of us
There comes a time in life,
When it is time to move on
And let go of pain and strife.
A time when we must stop and look
And face the things we find,
Even though our hearts are sore
And we have a troubled mind.
It’s time to step out from shadows
And stand in the sun once more.
It’s time to clear out pain and sorrow
And step through memory’s door.
It’s time to recall the good times
When life and love was new.
A time to remember and to laugh
At the things we used to do.
A time to clearly think and recall
How life itself is changed,
A time to view with happiness
The things that have been rearranged.
There is no turning back
Or cancelling things we’ve done,
But as time moves on my friend
We’ll see a battle won.
It is a time of memory sweet
When days were all aglow ~
But they have changed and now
It’s time to let the balloon go.

The Change of Time
Looking back into the shadows of yesterday
Now it just seems to be so far away
As I walk the road in this journey of life
My hair now is turning the color of silver grey
As I sit and reflect back to those days
I would love to go back in time
When as children we would play and climb
On old oak trees in this garden I treasured
Those memories I still can remember
Within the sleepy hollows of my mind
I hold them so close and dear
Of those perfect days when we played
I hear children's songs and laughter
Echoing in that tranquil haze
On those picturesc Autumn days
What I would give to turn back time
To return to this place that now lives in my mind
In yesterdays shadows before the change
When I grow up and went another way
Taking my journey far far away
Now I sit weiry as age takes it's toll
I remember back through the changes that unfold
From when I was young and full of fun
To the time of now when my days are short
Remembering all the love that life has brought
The changes in time
That took me on a journey through life
Has taught me the wisdom that guides me
To show me the way of tomorrow
And all the days that will follow

Winter's End, Spring's Beginning
Outside my window there’s a house
Two little sparrows have made a home,
Inside will lay there little eggs,
Ready to hatch in the spring sun
The winter colds gone,
Replaced by spring sun
Now the warmer weathers arrived
We can have some fun!
Blue skies, Fluffy clouds
Birds chirping, what a sound!
All of this can signal one thing,
Winters finally coming to an end!

Summer's Closure (An Acrostic Sonnet)

S ublimely shifts the length of night and day
U ntil the journey home from work is dark;
