May 2005 Theme ~ "Picture Interpretation"
Reflections of Tranquility
As she views the mountains in the distance
And sees her reflection in the sea.
There's a calmness that fills her,
A sense of tranquility.
Her barefoot feet feel the lush green grass
As the smell of wildflowers waif through the air.
A warm, gentle blowing breeze
Like butterflies fluttering through her hair.
She feels as though she belongs here
With the earth, she is one.
A place that loves her as she is
And warms her heart like the sun.
So as she views her reflection
In the gentle, calming sea.
She holds her head bravely up
And realizes...she is me.

Dreams
Standing on shore
Looking out towards the sea
Wind tousling her hair
Water lapping at her feet.
Her face raised up
Being kissed by the sun
Dreaming wonderful dreams
Having so much fun.
Time moves on
The sun starts to roam
With a sigh, she turns
And head off for home.

My Soul
The glorious early morning sunrise
The glass reflection on the lake
Not able to see or wonder what kind
Of day this will turn out to take
Luscious green grass for miles around
Not a single solitary noise or sound
Anywhere to be heard or found
I look inside my soul to see
What should be made or come
Of this silent sound both inside my soul
And outside all over the ground
I wonder what this silence could mean
Is it to help me gather quiet but very
Organized thoughts or is it to mean
Something else I as of yet do not know
But in time the daylight I'm sure will soon show
The breeze feels so pure and nice, it's sure to lead
To a beautiful ending to this wondrous day.

Mother's Day
Oh have you heard
My mom is spending
Mother's Day in Heaven
Again this year.
She was something dear to me
Without her I don't know
Where I would be
I miss my mom a lot.
When I think of her
I cry on the spot
She is the wind
Beneath my wings
I feel her touch
It's like a feather
When I feel her
Presence she makes
Me feel better
That love is what
She is sending.

Yonder Hills
Looking out o'er yonder hills, the breeze against my face
Colors swirl among the flowers, a serene and silent place
Birds, they fill the sky above, butterflies at my feet
I may never leave again, for your face I wait to see
I watch the waves roll in and out, hear the rustling of the trees
And I'm not aware of anything, except my love for thee
Oh come my prince and join me here, where hearts become as one
And let our hearts reunite, our love, our faith, reborn
Tender is the blade of grass, and the sun is sitting high
As I ponder on our journeys past, too happy now to cry
Yes, my prince, our hearts are one, I know you feel it too
And I wait for you in paradise, where dreams, they do come true
Yes, looking out o'er yonder hills, the breeze against my face
We'll meet again, our hearts aflame, and get lost in love's embrace.

Serenity Awakened
Azure skies reflect in the blue water;
Ripples dance and churn forgotten memories.
Leaf shadows waltz across my face
Awakening my soul with song.
Stir a longing for the pastoral hills of youth
When the tapestries of life were intricately woven
With gossamer threads of beauty;
Unbroken by frayed strings of regrets
And threadbare patches of dreams.
Briefly worries cascade and hope returns.

Alone
I see her standing there
So lonely and in great despair
For all to witness her pain
She vowed to never love again
In her bitterness and distress
It was not my choice to press
Of the future awaiting her
A new joy, a new adventure
One day she will awake
With some decisions to make
She would never again be naive
This admission will help her grieve
She had learned from her mistake
Taken for granted she could not take
Being so easily and gullibly led
Filled her with so much dread
A year had passed
She felt happy at last
A new love she had found
Her feet firmly on the ground
She would take it very slow
And in time that love will grow
For her heart had released the pain
And she had found love again.
