March Theme - Blessings
Poem #1
My Mother's Day
I never thought I would have my very own Mother's Day
All I knew how to do is what to say for other mothers
It seemed everyone I knew were mothers but little ole me
I was so sad that sometimes I could not see
My eyes were filled with tears through those years
Then one day my wish came ever so true
I was pregnant finally I was going to me a mom
My heart filled with joy my eyes filled with tears
Finally I was going to be a mom after all of those years
Still Mother's Day came no presents from my family
I asked why did you forget me?
They said because you are not a mother yet
I said well that is not true I am a mother to be
The only person who truly loved me was the father to be
And his mother & father who did notice the mother to be.

Poem #2
Blessings
I awaken to the sounds
Of birds and ducks and geese.
A mist stands above the lake
Like a bridal veil.
I descend the wooden stairs
Greeted with sweet meow.
Ancient dog follows slowly
Pets will follow soon.
The smell of fragrant coffee…
Fried eggs, bacon and toast
Stay safe, my Sweet Love, today.
Husband leaves for work.
A bathroom radio blares.
Teenage voice raised in song.
The child gambols down the stairs.
By beloved son.

Poem #3
The Purest of Blessings
The laughter of a child,
The Smiles of friends,
The hugs of Family,
The love of pets
Life’s simple pleasures,
Life’s Purest Blessings.
A garden of roses,
A field of flowers,
The wonderful scent,
As the breeze blows around them
The Sun shinning down,
The storm clouds coming in.
Mother Natures gift’s to us,
Of the purest Blessings

Poem #4
Blessings
Down the winding road of life
Through its rocky hills
There have been times of chaos
But more of wonderful thrills
My life is full of blessings
They surround me everyday
Looking in my child's eyes
I feel blessed in every way
God has kept me safe
And given me my sanity
Even though life is spinning
And always changing constantly
Blessings fill my soul
Like a warm, familiar blanket
Staying in my heart
Making life a perfect fit.

Poem #5
Count my Blessings
C onceived from the touch of innocent love
O pening a new chapter of a precious new life
U ntouched beauty of a new born child
N ot spoiled by the prejudice of mankind
T eaching the ways within this journey of time
M y son, my love, I hold with silent pride
Y ou are my gift from a moment now lost in my soul
B lissful emotions from holding you that day
L ove was all I felt within my veins
E nduring the teaching with each step you take
S weet memories of these times will forever last
S pecial moments I hold close in my heart
I n time my son, you will follow your own destiny
N ow in time, your life is your own
G rateful for this moments I held you safe through this journey
S implicity, a blessing of giving birth to a new life
