July 2006 Theme ~ "My Country"

Country of Choice

Right now I am a country-less soul,
The country I was born in,
Holds to many memories,
horrible and dark.
Soon I will have a country in my heart,
A majestic country,
A country that stands proud and tall,
A country that has values,
A country that always thinks big,
Never small,
A country that found its place in my heart,
Whose anthem fills my heart with pride,
They call it the land of the brave,
I like to call it home,
The land of possibilities,
Stands, Proud and Tall,
Its flag stands for freedom,
I love this country the world knows
As the U.S.A.

This is my Country

I love my country the USA
In my heart I have always felt this way
A wonderful life I have always observed
Because of those who are willing to serve

The land of the free and the home of the brave
My Country is free because of sacrifices made
Proudly I fly the Red White and Blue
A red blooded American through and through

As We celebrate freedom on the 4th of July
The stars and stripes waving brings a tear to my eye
My gratitude goes out to those who were brave
And gave of their lives for our freedoms to save

I honor your memory on this Independence Day
And will never forget the price that you paid
You've made our Country a safer place live
To you my thanks and respect I give.

Canada, My Home

Canada, my home,
"Canada, my land.
From the Northern Territories, British Columbia in the west
to the Atlantic Maritimes to the east.

Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.....
These provinces fill Canadians hearts
With love, pride and respect.
Canada, my home.

Majestic mountains climbing upward toward the sky, plains
And prairies that spread beyond the eye. magnificent scenery
That extends from sea to sea,.....where the best of nature
And wild life grow and still roam free.
Canada, my home.

Soaring eagles, roaring rivers, great lakes and cities nestled
along the shore,.....where you can view the beauty of my land
and the freedom to explore.
And always know where your heart is,
Canada, my home.

America

"My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty"
Are more than words in a song, to me
They mean I can do what I want, when I want
And be free to be who I want to be

America waves her flag always ready for a fight
She stands behind what is honorable and right
She holds her people in the palm of her hand
And protects us throughout the night.

To live in this great country is a special treat
To be able to stand on crutches or on our own two feet
We stand beside our President and Country true
And pray for our countrymen when they face defeat.

America may not be the perfect place to be
But America is the place I always want to see
From shore to shore and in between
America is the place for me !

All About Canada

Canada where I live a country I'm proud to call home born and raised
all my life. We fight for what's right we fight for what we believe in.
We have lots of tourist attractions I wonder how many have seen them
We have Canada's Wonderland and Marine Land too. We also have the
Metropolitan zoo. We have the Eaton's Center said to be good too.
We also have the CN Tower but well I'm afraid of heights so that's just
not for me . We have Niagara Falls as well Ontario Place with lots it's
been said. The luxury of having a ride is to see the African Lion Safari.
and Science North in Sudbury. The place to see some wonderful art is
The Art Gallery of Ontario. Places to go hiking we even have some of
those too. So see the list of things we have is in abundance.
Famous Canadians we have so many the list is long and there is plenty.
Donavan Bailey, Michael J Fox, Howie Mandel, Mike Myers, Keanu
Reeves Martin Short, Jennifer Tilly, Many Canadian Inventors the list
is long to John McIntosh, Adelaide Hunter, Arthur Sicard, Alexander Graham Bell Gideon Sundback,
With lots of history through the years.
So you see we have so many things to do and see.

Walking in the Footsteps of Masters

What I love about my country,
is our nation’s capitol

The Smithsonian museums,
our National Zoo,
the history in our nation’s capitol

Tourists come here every year
to walk in the footsteps of Presidents,
but we can walk them every day.
They see the museums for the first time,
but we can enjoy them every day of the week.

It’s great having the nation’s capitol as home,
we are constantly reminded of the freedoms
our founding fathers fought for.

It’s what I love about our country,
having the opportunity to walk
in the footsteps of our founding fathers
Each and every day.

Australia

Australia is the only place I'd rather be
Close to the land and close to the sea
In the middle so barren and so bare
Precious gemstones some very rare

Mountains in the east flat land in the west
South Australia in the middle is by far the best
From the Gold Coast to Adelaide, the city I love the most
Seeing the city in an hour of which I can proudly boast

Cuddly Koalas, kangaroos, kookaburras, and wombats
These beautiful animals receive lots of pats
Beware the crocs, snakes, dingoes and wild buffalo
The cities are the places I'd much rather go

The Day's End

On the River The sun slowly setting in the western sky
Casting a crimson shadow upon the earth's crust
The old River gums standing tall
In a silhouette against the banks of the river
Casting their reflection over the ripples of the water
The crimson colors in the heavens above
Is the backdrop of the day coming to rest

The birds up high
Singing their evening tune
The animals playing their games
Before the fall of night
As a peaceful serenity comes over all
The silence and tranquility
The beauty of the day before it comes to sleep
Before the night casts its own shadow
When our land comes to sleep

Where I'm From

Home
America
Coast to Coast
And North to South
Sea to shining Sea
Red, White and Blue flies proud
From wide farmlands to Wall Street
Warm sandy beaches and baseball games
America, my home that land that I love
Your beauty is where lives and dreams begin.

How beautiful is the earthy Philippines

How Beautiful is the Earthy Philippines
Where beauties abound and Godly gifts descend
Where rivers of life run to join with the glowing sea
And the flowers bloom and leaves swing in a tree

How lovely is its far-height, cold and thin atmosphere
Where Filipinos find the desert and illimitable air
Where they can gladly hear the rippling notes
That come from a thousand sweet birds' throats

How elegant are its golden stars on the soft night's breast
And the slippery moonlight's path to rest
And the shapely mountain's peak
Where the wind and lightning meet and speak

How exquisite are the country's sea waves and sunset glow
And the waving fields where the reapers go
And the cool dark-painted crimson sky
Where its flash of colors before us lie
