February 2007 Theme ~ "Daydreams"

Our theme for February was "Daydreams" and the idea was inspired by the Josephine Wall picture above.

Congratulations to our Febraury winners!

The Daydream

Secretly, she slips away...
To journey down a dream's pathway
When still the sky is filled with day
She hears a whisper sweetly say,

"Follow me..."

'Tis just a blissful memory
She follows, oh so faithfully
To her great moment of purity...
She met her man and love to be.

Yes, there he stood on silent ground.
He left her not nor made a sound,
Just raised his hand to touch her face
So she may feel his warm embrace...

'Twas like a kiss that like a feather,
So sweet, and soft, and bold
Landed right just where it should
On the surface of her soul,

And no other thought has she to think
That she could love so much
Than of the time when first she felt
The love within his touch.

Daydreams

Wrapped like a blanket
By the warmth of the sun
Where my nightdreams end
My daydreams have just begun.

Dancing on the clouds
To the music of a gentle breeze
An elegant skyline escapade
Performed with grace and ease.

Frolicking throughout a rainforest
Making friends of Fae and such
Sprinkled with mystical fairy dust
In a land I love so much.

Some say it's merely illusions
Imagination confused for Reality
I believe those worlds really do exist
And in my daydreams they'll always be.

You

You are a silhouette, hazy and gray
A vain creation of lover's memory
A fair elusive vision everywhere displace
With a shady luster away from my yearning embrace

You are a lamplight glimmering with surprise
A semblance of beauty that surpasses the skies
Endowed with charm in a form of airy grace
Embellishing the black immensities in a peculiar maze

You are an innocuous moonlight angel
With the loveliness exceptionally real
Across the cold and misty moonbeam
Where no twinge of conscience can deny in any theme

Oh, you're but a being matchless to compare
A creature so alluring, how I love to touch your hair
But alas! You glided away and faded out from my vision
And only the whispers of your heart beats in slumbrous fashion

In the nocturne rhythm of the night
Where my perception was deceived by my sight
I was swept by the waves of realization -
You are just a dream, a product of my imagination
