December 2007 Theme ~ "All I Want for Christmas...."




All I Want for Christmas

It's that most wonderful time of the year again
and I'm pondering what do I need?
There really isn't a whole lot I want
for the best things in life are free.

I'm dreaming of what this world could be like
filled with all of the things
Love and compassion, goodwill and cheer,
and the blessing that Christmastime brings.

For we gather together to celebrate
that one holy and silent night
But do we really and truly embrace
its meaning beyond all the hype?

The very first Noel more commonly known
as it was written above
A most joyous gift to all of mankind
that everyone would know of His love.

But in that little town of Bethlehem
now nestled deep in our hearts
Is only unrest, hate and anger
none of which was to be a part.

So I guess all that I want for Christmas
is this troublesome world filled with peace,
So that all will know of His blessings and love
and therefore what Christmas truly means.

All I Want for Christmas

The sun is shinning bright in the sky,
Presents are stacked under the tree,
All I want for Christmas..
Is my family around me!

The table is covered with plates of food,
Knives, forks, serving spoons!
The lights on the tree
Glisten in the sun
I smile and think
This is fun!
All I want for Christmas
Is my family around me.

As the day gets on my family has arrived
So my Christmas wish is granted!!!!

All I Want for Christmas

There are many things I want this Christmas day
But what I hope for is very simple

If I could see the wonderment of my granddaughters eyes early on Christmas morn
To have all my relatives alive once more on this earth celebrating with me
To have my sons call me and remind me of their undying love
And when I lay my head to sleep on Christmas eve, to know that my family is doing all right
Yes, that is all I could hope for Christmas.

To wake up Christmas day and hear our soldiers are headed home
To know that no more blood will be shed for reasons that seem unclear
To know in my heart that another war will never, ever be fought
To know that another parent, spouse or child will never, ever weep
And to know that peace abounds throughout all the lands
Yes, that is all I could hope for Christmas.

To return to the magic I felt as a child when I still believed in Santa Claus
To know that each person on earth will get their hearts desire
To know in my heart that the wonders of Christmas is felt in every humans heart
And to have all the worlds people celebrate in unison the magic we somehow lost
Yes, that is all I could hope for Christmas.

To have my special someone hold me ever so close, as we get lost in our embrace
To always be able to show him he is my special someone, and to know that he believes
When we open up our gifts to each other, to both be totally surprised and pleased
To go to bed each night in each other’s arms and wake up tomorrow and begin again anew
And know and believe in our hearts and souls what we have is eternal
Yes, that is all I could hope for Christmas.

All I Want for Christmas

I often say this is my favorite time of year
And it is true to be sure
Lights and laughter fill the air
Along with anticipation and care

It is a time for gathering those close to you
Those that mean the most
Yet far away in a desert filled land
Men and women must stay
Away from their families and friends

Tonight I sit and consider my list
A family so large and growing
They will be safe and sound this Christmas
And for that I say a prayer

Among the things I wish for nothing can compare
With a wish my heart makes for the soldiers over there

I wish that for this holiday season
No family fight despair
With a new loss or worry
That pride and courage are shining from their eyes
Not the sadness given forth by shimmering tears
