This mini assignment was to write a short poem beginning with the line:"By the light of the silvery moon...".
Silvery Moon Shining
By the light of the silvery moonI stood in winter's cold
Suddenly feeling scared;
And feeling very old.
It was years since I walked this path
Years since I felt the winter chill
Come rushing through the valley
And I stood very still.
The silvery moon was shining still
Just as it has always done,
Much of my life behind me...
Many battles won.
I feel my hand clasped in his
As he took me for this walk,
To see "The Silvery Moon" shining
"Hush" - he told me not to talk.
I walked that night with my Father
By the light of the silvery moon,
We were both captivated
Why does childhood go so soon?

Moonlight Reflections
By the light of the silvery moonI ponder now my fate
Gazing at its beauty
I sit and contemplate -
In still and silent solitude
reflections of the past
This moon that's seen a thousand years
has still not seen its last.
Oh, by the light of the still small moon
I see from my window
Has no strength to offer me
no answers for tomorrow -
Is this just the beginning
or will it be the end?
I guess we'll have to wait and see
just what the future brings.

We stood hand in hand
staring into each other’s eyes
The sound of the oceans waves
Crashed all around us
By the light of the silvery moon..
Our eyes shone with forbidden lust
Our lips met and fireworks exploded
Magical feelings spread through us
And we shivered
By the light of the silvery moon
We did the unthinkable
Our winter romance
Turned into a winter of love...
