Limericks

This assignment was to write a limerick about Christmas.

There was a woman from South Australia,
Who thought this Christmas she was a failure,
Her cards were all late,
Her parcels were too,
And she is tired of this paraphernalia.

There once was a star in the sky
That shone on us ever so bright
It's message was clear
The Messiah is here
Born in Bethlehem that night.

There was a young shepherd from Bethlehem,
Who was there when the angels came to them,
His eyes opened wide
His heart filled with pride
To be part of the good news to all men.

There was a young angel from the choir,
Who thought she could sing higher and higher,
She sang to the sheep
All the animals fell asleep
Except for the birds on the wire.

'Tis the season we spend all our dough,
And eat 'til we can't eat no mo'
And if you lend an ear,
You will most likely hear
Jolly laughter of "HO HO HO HO!!"

There was once a Santa named Claus
Who used to pick up his gifts at the malls
One snowy winter night and with a shout of delight
He finally realized he could just shop on the Ebay website
He has never saved so much time and money that he ever recalls

There was an old lady who loved to bake
At Christmas time there was lots of cookies and cakes!
With a smile not a frown,
And with lots of love
She’d bake lots of cookies to share around

Sally sat on the sea shore
Watching the lights galore
Each one twinkling and shining
Turning this way and to see some more
