Fun Time Minis
This assignment was to write a verse for "the greeting card no one will ever make"
Dearest Neighbors
As the seasons make their rounds
Time has given you its favors
Your love has no bounds
We witness it each day
Up and down the hall
And in the words we hear you say
Heard every night through the apartment wall

We don't want hear about your car,
it's year, model or make,
We don't to hear it revving
and keeping us awake -
We don't want your blaring music
or parties until dawn
We don't want to find your wayward guests
passed out on our lawn!
We don't want the finer details
of your married life
To hear about it through the walls
each and every night -
We've never like you anyway
so why don't you take the hint,
We don't want you as our neighbours -
and no, this ain't no misprint!!

Your kids are so noisy,
And they play so hard,
So won't you please tell them
To stay out of MY yard?
They yell and they scream
And they get into fights,
They're rough and obnoxious,
Destroying all in sight.
My flowers are be-headed,
My trees are de-leaved,
My grass has been trampled....
I'd be so relieved
If only you'd watch them
And keep them in line
They may be your darlings,
But gosh, they're not mine!!

I hear you say how very proud
You are of your offspring
How very happy they make you
And what joy and pleasure bring.
You talk about "other peoples children"
How they irk and bother you,
Well my friends I have something
To say which rings quite true.
While you are often bragging about
Your wonderful children and then
Remember that to me
They are "other peoples children".
