Fun Time Minis
This assignment was to write a verse which began with the line "I opened the door and to my surprise...."
"I opened the door and to my surprise....."
There stood a skunk with big brown eyes !
He smiled and lifted his bushy black tail
I screamed and slammed the door as I started to wail
It was too late the smell had snuck in
"That'll teach ya," my hubby said with a grin !

I opened the door and to my surprise
Standing there before my eyes
Puffing away on his cigarette
Was a sight I'd not forget!
A look that danced within his eye
While I thought I'd surely die
For he wore nothing but a smile
And I stood silent in denial.
Could this be the man I married
Standing there oh-so unharried,
In the yard for all to see
All of his masculinity.

I opened the door and to my surprise,
I saw all my in-laws right before my eyes!
They all yelled "SURPRISE!" and I must confess
That I thought I would faint, 'cause my house was a mess!

I was being stared down by two beady eyes
Held in small paws was a chunk of cheese
The look I was given said step aside please
I moved out of the way in the nick of time
There was not just one mouse but a heard of nine
They scurried through the door one by one
And one turned around and stuck out his tongue

I saw someone in a disguise
I looked the disguise up and down
To see if I recognized or found
Something to tell me who was behind this big surprise.
But nothing I found told who it was.
When I gave up and walked away
My husband said ha ha you didn't recognize me.
