Fun Time Minis

This mini assignment, done just before Valentine's Day, was to write a poem using at least FOUR words and phrases containing the word "heart".

Heartbroken, she decided to
Take heart and try again. . .
So have a heart and love her
And you just might her heart win.

My family is the Heart of my home
Our Hearts entwined we are never alone
Whenever there is heartache we see each other through
With a heart to heart We'll start the day new

Our two hearts entwined as one,
sharing the heart of rock and roll;
songs of heartache and heartfelt love
as we dance heart-to-heart
in the heart of the home.

My heart throbs when I see him
His hearts entwining when he gets a goal
The San Jose Sharks is the heart of the city
The King of Hearts is Johnathan Cheechoo.

Heartbroken and heartsick as she traveled across the heartland
Looking for her heartstrings while listening to
the heart of rock and roll on the radio
Her heartache was easing as she got a glimpse of the heart of the city
She was forgetting about that heart-to-heart
she needed to have a day ago
Stopping at a warmhearted little cafe outside of the next town
She saw an old couple holding hands
as two hearts beating as one did for a while
Could she ever be his "queen of hearts"
like this old heartworn woman was?
She prayed some day her heart would heal
and she left them with her heartfelt smile.

A heart you receive
heart chocolates she accepts
heart kisses she blows
her heart kisses you miss

Taken as he was
It would seem to be that
His heartbeat was missing
No smiles for the passer by
No kind words of hello or goodbye
No one realized that he was merely shy

Yet in secret
Without witnesses
Cards of heartfelt condolence
Notes of encouragement and confidence
Without signature to identify
This tenderhearted benefactor
Of the sentiments his heart did proclaim

Quietly he went about his day
Until after years of diligent work
His own heart gave way
In his desk they did find
Evidence that boggled the mind
Each thought back
Unkind thoughts and actions
Aimed in his direction

At his funeral the crowds did flow
Not a dry eye in the house
Flooded with those who would
Never be the same
