About Me
This mini assignment was to write a poem about our favourite flower.
Ode to a Lilac
Oh, dainty blossoms dressed up in my favorite color,
Oh softly clustered sprays of lavender mist,
How beautifully you drape the leaves before me,
As by the gentle breeze and sun you're kissed.
Oh lovely flowers, crowning emerald bushes,
Your haunting fragrance is beyond compare
It brings back memories of long ago days
As it drifts o'er the yard on summer air.

Australia's Bouquet
Bouquets in abundance
native to our land
That grow within the wild
and traced by nature's hand
An array of wondrous colours
a vast kaleidoscope
Painted on the landscape here
where wild flowers grow
Amidst the scent of eucalypt
and the temperate bush that shades
Stands the vibrant beauty
of the Waratah's bouquet
It's thick tenacious features
endures the extremes
Within this rugged nation
of cold and wind and heat
It's found within the forests
that stretch along the coast
Upon the eastern seaboard
where its beauty boasts
The vibrant floral emblem
for the state of New South Wales
A strength and richness so intense
the Waratah prevails
And yet to see its beauty
one must be fortunate
For where these wild flowers grow
depends on the climate
Though no other can surpass it
we still have much beauty,
Just look around this winter
and you'll find the Wattle Tree.

Carnations
Carnations are our heavenly
father's flower of love on earth
with all their beauty.
Carnations meanings of love and friendship
buds and blooms of many colors. The color of flesh
the smell of beauty.
Petals as smooth as the colors they come in
long stems of different lengths come together
to make many bouquets of carnations.
Receiving from my beloved every birthday
and anniversary.
Carnations blooming love in the soul of
my heart my favorite flower.

Flowers of my Heart
How can I choose a favourite
When all the flowers are sweet,
Some spread fragrant perfume,
Others – petals at my feet.
The tiny purple violet
In cool and damp dark places,
The colourful little pansies
With smiles upon their faces.
Pink and white spring blossoms
Across the side of a hill,
A sea of swaying flowers ~
The golden daffodil.
Lilacs and magnolias,
The cheeky little Snapdragon,
What scene could be more beautiful
Than a lovely flower wagon.?
For me my favourites blossom
Throughout the entire year,
Each has special qualities
And each is held so dear.
