S ublimely shifts the length of night and day
U ntil the journey home from work is dark;
M eanders forth a hint that sparrows hark,
M igration soon must take the place of play.
E bullient children once, they now dismay
R eturning back to school to ere embark;
S ent on to worlds of high remark,
C onsidering their minds don't stray away.
L ike leaves that turn from green to brown and gold
O ur lives so much like summer's changing time
S oon bring us from the days of young to old.
U nbroken by the chilling, changing clime
R emains the oak, though still in winter's cold
E merges in the spring as truth sublime.
