Welcome to the Pet Lovers Committee

We would like to welcome you to the Garden of Friendships Pet Lovers Committee. Every pet lover can tell you that we share a very special bond with our animal friends. Their unconditional love has been shown time and time again to have a positive effect on our overall health and well-being. This garden committee is a gathering place for pet lovers to share and enjoy articles, tips, columns, and stories; some are educational, others heartwarming, and still others just bring a smile to your face. Naturally, we welcome you with open arms and paws and we hope you will enjoy your visit as we share with you the wonderful love of our pets.

What would I do without you,
My precious, furry friend?
Part mischief, but all blessing,
And faithful to the end!

You look at me with eyes of love,
You never hold a grudge...
You think I'm far too wonderful
To criticize or judge.

It seems your greatest joy in life
Is being close to me...
I think God knew how comforting
Your warm, soft fur would be.

I know you think you're human,
But I'm glad it isn't true...
The world would be a nicer place
If folks were more like you!

A few short years are all we have;
One day we'll have to part...
But you, my pet, will always have
A place within my heart.

Hope Harrington Kolb

A Pets Ten Commandments

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years.
Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up
as punishment. You have your work, Your friends,
your entertainment, but I have only you.

5.Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words,
I do understand your voice when Speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me,
remember that I could hurt you, and yet,
I Choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative,
ask yourself if something might be Bothering me.
Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long,
or my Heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey,
go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch.
Don't make me face this alone.
Everything is easier for me if you are there,
because I love You so.

Thank you dear friend of mine
I will always be here by your side
For all you have given me in your time
The meomories I will take with me when I die
And again we walk together side by side
