Lady Starlite joined the Garden
of Friendship on September 18,
2000. Connie was one of
the most precious blooms in our
Garden and touched the heart of
everyone who had the pleasure of
getting to know her. She
always had something positive to
say, a bright outlook,
encouraging words... no matter
how grim things looked, she was
always able to find the bright
side in everything.
To the Garden, Lady Starlite was
a blessing. Her dedication
and commitment were
outstanding. She built our
initial HTML Assistance Site
almost single handedly, and was
always available to help anyone
with any problems they were
having. During her time
with the HTML Assistance
Committee, she used to also hold
GOF Lotteries, providing
entertainment for all our
members.
Lady Starlite was very talented
when it came to graphic design.
She was a member of our Graphics
Committee as well as our
Adoptions Committee. In
both these committees, Lady
Starlite graciously shared her
talents with others, offering
background sets, gifts, calling
cards, adoptions, etc. She also
took great pride in her personal
adoption shoppe, Lady Starlite's
Limited Edition Dolls where she
offered a beautiful selection of
limited edition dolls from her
private collection.
In the two and a half years Lady
Starlite was a member of the
Garden, she gave so much of
herself, her time and her heart.
She held positions on many of
the Garden committees and seldom
missed sending gifts for Special
Occasions, be it a birthday or
an anniversary, or a card just
to say "I Care". She was
always willing to pitch in a
hand and help out wherever
needed and share a part of
herself with others.
Connie wore a coat of many
colors. Her life long
experiences brought her a huge
array of knowledge on a broad
variety of topics. In
Connie's years, she ran several
successful businesses and an
accounting firm. She
freely shared the knowledge she
gained with anyone who asked and
was always willing to help out
any way she could.
Connie's friendship was of the
best quality, for it was
genuine. You knew she was
coming from the heart. She
just had this way about her.
One couldn't help but love her.
She had a deep love for the Garden
and all it's members as we've
shared so much together, both
good times and bad, sharing our
joys and holding each other up
when life became overbearing.
One of Connie's favorite quotes
comes to mind:
One friend, one person who is
truly understanding,
who takes the trouble to listen
to us as we consider our
problems,
can change our whole outlook on
the world.
This was just the kind of person
Connie was. You just KNEW
she cared. She had a way
about her, a compassion for her
friends and family that brought
out the best in them. When you
were feeling down, she was
spreading sunshine, offering
advice, encouragement, whatever
it was you needed and she seemed
to always know exactly what that was,
no matter the circumstances.
Connie had a wonderful sense of
humor, and could always bring a
smile. She always had a
joke to share or simple thoughts
that could brighten your day,
and often your entire outlook.
Connie was a true "Starr" in our
midst, not only giving of her
time, her knowledge and
expertise, but she put her heart
and soul into everything she
did.
To me personally, Connie was an
angel sent from above.
Although she lived a difficult
life and was dealt more than her
share of hardship, her
determination and courage
carried her though it all,
She was a great inspiration and
a wonderful friend and will be
sorely missed. The loss of
such a dear friend brings great
sadness, yet we can find solace
knowing she no longer has to
suffer and is at peace.
She is surely looking down upon
us from above with a smile, and
she won't be alone, but with her
sons, Robert and David, standing
by her side.
