Favorite Spot
~ By Kythera Ann ~
Hi all; hope you are enjoying
a glorious season (spring or fall according to your location)
as I am. I have so much work it is sad I am inside so much,
but at least my view from the computer (see below) is always
lovely and I can see the beautiful sunsets and sunrises
through the trees, plus the squirrels and birds tap on my
window to tell me when I need to fill the feeders, LOL!

So the place I enjoy nature
the most often is from my computer, but the place on the
property that I enjoy most is a very hard decision as there
are so many lovely areas. But at this time of year, it
probably is the patio (see view from patio below) that is
except for dawn and dusk when the no-see-ums are voracious.
At least their bite though irritating is gone in a few hours
unlike the mosquitoes (next months joy) which itch me for
days.

From the patio I can observe the ever changing floral display
from wild azaleas, to mountain laurel and then rhododendrons
plus the changing look of dogwoods from flower to leaf to
berry. I also have planted around the edges of the patio
seasonal flowers such as pansies and Impatiens and many herbs
so I have easy access for cooking or just reaching over from a
chair and plucking a tasty bite of celery leaf herb (it has a
nice zing to it) basil, dill, cilantro or the like.
From this view I also enjoy watching the antics of the
hummingbirds, cardinals, chickadees, titmice, jays, finches,
squirrels, chipmunks and many others. Of course the deer, bear
and raccoons tend to visit more during dusk and through the
night.
My hubby makes me a mocha coffee every morning and we sit on
the patio for an hour or two to soak in the beauty, laugh at
the critters, including the cat that loves stalking everything
and never catches anything in between his paws. We talk of our
dreams during the night, our plans for the day and solve all
the worlds' problems with lively, albeit utopian,
discussions.
So yup, that is my favorite hangout here, mocha, hubby,
nature - 'tis grand!
