Plants That Attract Us

~ By Gardening Committee Members ~

Up to this point in time we have discussed "What Attracted Us to Gardening" and "Garden Ornamentation." For this month's discussion we focused on the "Plants That Attract Us."

Our discussion was to cover one or two plants we felt very attracted to from an individual perspective and involved giving a little bit of a description for each plant chosen from the entire array of plants we grew in our various gardens.

The plants could be types that flower; give shade; used for ground cover; ornamentals and so on. Now this idea was great as far as it went but then some of us love all our plants so much we were unable to single out just one or two of our treasures and this brought a lot of appreciative laughter into the conversational thread. We hope you will find our contributions to this subject of enjoyable and informative interest :)

Kythera Ann ~ The first of "Plants That Attract Us" that I want to share are Redwood trees. Redwood trees are the coolest trees (my opinion) in the world. I fell in love with them the very first time I ever saw them when I was a child… continued

The second plant is pansies. I love pansies; there is something about them that always makes me smile. Their multi colored faces gaze up at me as I wander through my garden from early spring to late fall… continued

My last offering is about a unique, beautiful and fascinating ground cover commonly called "ice plant."… continued

Julie ~ I would have to say the flowers I love the most are camellias and roses, tulips and fuchsias… continued

Lady Kat ~ The plants that attract me the most are perennials with vibrant colors and have wonderful scents... continued

Gardnbee ~ Thinking back to my early childhood two plants stand out the most for me and these are the Lilac Tree and the Peony Bush, both of which share our outdoor living space now albeit in different expressions of sameness… continued
