This month we are spotlighting Garden of Friendship Member, Laylaskye. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
ABOUT YOU
1. What is a typical day like for you?
I work full-time so my day starts out very early. I have to be at work by 6:30am. I work 9 hour days so I'm off from work every other Monday.
2. Do you work outside the home and if so, what do you do?
I'm a Financial Management Analyst for the federal government.
3. Do you have any children? If so, what are their names and ages?
I don't have any children.
4. Do you have any pets? What are they and what are their names?
I don't have any pets.
5. What is your favorite pastime or hobby or craft?
I enjoy watching movies and listening to music especially on my mp3 player.
6. What motivates you?
Doing sudoku puzzles. I find them challenging and it keeps the mind going.
7. What irritates you?
Mean spirited people and tailgaters.
8. What is your favorite thing in life?
Watching a really good movie and shopping.
9. What is your favorite color?
I love blue and brown.
10. What is your favorite type of music, song, singer or group?
I enjoy listening to old school r&b from the 70's and early 80's, British pop from the 80's (I call it the 2nd British Invasion) and classic rock. My favorite groups and singers include Luther Vandross, Tears For Fears, Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago, Corrine Bailey Rae, Elton John, Sade, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin.
11. What is your favorite movie? Actor? Actress?
My favorite actors include Robert DeNiro, Denzel Washington, Angela Bassett, Meryl Streep and Bette Davis. I like alot of films but some of my favorites include The Color Purple, Jaws and What's Love Got To Do With It.
12. What is your favorite food? Are you a good cook?
I love Chinese food. I guess I'm an average cook.
13. What makes you laugh? Really laugh, as in guffaw and snort.
Having silly conversations with friends.
14. What causes do you hold dear? Any particular reason?
I don't really have any.
15. Name an event in your life that you will never forget.
Completing my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. I went to school part time in the evening and completing my degree was a major accomplishment.
16. If you had a chance to be one person for a day, who would that person be, and why?
Oprah Winfrey cause I would love to be a billionaire for just one day, lol.
ABOUT WHERE YOU LIVE
17. What part of the world are you in?
I live in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. It's just outside of Washington, D.C.
18. Are there any interesting facts about the area you live in? (Traditions, famous landmarks, famous people, history, etc.)
Well Washington, D.C. is the nation's capital. Lots of museums, the Washington Monument, the White House, various memorials and other tourists attractions. I'm about 45 minutes away from Baltimore, MD which is known for it's seafood.
19. What do you like best about where you live?
I love the diversity of the Washington, D.C. metro area which includes Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
20. What do you like least about where you live?
The worst part of this area is the hot and humid summers. I'm not a hot weather person.
ABOUT YOUR ONLINE LIFE
21. How much time do you spend online and how does your family feel about it?
I spend too much time on the internet. But since I'm single with no kids I'm not bothering anyone, lol.
22. How much experience do you have on the computer?
I've been on the computer since the 1980's while working. The internet came into play where I work during the 90's. I've owned my own computer since 2000. Before that I was on webtv at home for a couple of years.
23. Have you taken any computer classes, online or off?
I have taken many work related computer classes including Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft FrontPage and Dreamweaver. I taught myself html while I was on webtv. After obtaining a Web Developer position at work I was able to have my job pay for the Microsoft FrontPage courses.
24. Did you create your site yourself?
Yes I did.
25. Why did you originally create it?
Well I started out on webtv and I saw alot of personal homepages while surfing the web. So I decided to teach myself html and I was able to start my own homepage. I created my first homepage on webtv's pagemaker. I later moved to Geocities and then after that I moved my site to Lunarpages where I've been for about 4 years now.

27. What do you do away from the computer, i.e.. do you go fishing, camping?
I love watching movies, working on sudoku and word find puzzles and maybe hanging out at the mall.
