Below is a brief description of each
of the Garden of Friendship's Committees and any
requirements that must be met for committee
membership.
All members of the Garden of Friendship must
play an active roll on at least one
committee in the Garden of Friendship. The
Garden of Friendship's success is greatly
due to the combined efforts of our members.
Inactivity will result in termination of your
membership status.
There are also several non committee activities
in the Garden. The activities are optional
and all members of the Garden are welcome
to participate.
The Garden's Awards Committee are
responsible for creating all the awards which
are presented to GOF members by the various
committees and by the Garden itself. Garden
of Friendship Awards represent the Garden on
our members pages and therefore must be of the
highest quality at all times. Members of this
committee are hand picked, not applicants. Please
do not apply for this committee or write about
how to be chosen. When positions become available,
we look at the work done by various members
and determine the best candidates.
One day, the owner of the Garden
of Friendship, Deelight, was strolling through
the Garden. She was enjoying all of its beauty
and reflecting on the joy it has given her over
the years, when she came upon a little glass
container filled with sparkling gold powder.
Deelight just loves sparkles, so she opened
the container and the golden sparkles emerged
landing all around her. Much to her surprise,
all of the flowers that were touched by the
sparkles suddenly came to life and began doing
wonderful and amazing things! They could sing
and dance and talk! Some even told her cute
little jokes and stories. Deelight was tickled
by their adorable names, but as a group she
called them her Garden Blossoms. She invited
the Blossoms to visit and surprise the other
members of the Garden of Friendship with their
gifts of love and friendship. They all jumped
for joy at the opportunity, because of course
they were Deelighted.
Do you have something magical inside you
that is ready to come to life? If you think
you have what it takes to be a Garden Blossom
and you can keep a secret, this just may be
the Committee for you. The true identity of
each Blossom is never revealed as their main
objective is to spread joy and love throughout
the Garden without personal recognition. We
have a set number of Blossoms, so membership
availability will be announced through the
main mailing list and a waiting list will
be created as necessary. A working knowledge
of PSP is helpful in creating your Blossom
persona.
The Garden of Friendship Graphics
Committee brings us all kinds of delightful
surprises as they express their creative talents.
They create many of our background sets, calling
cards, snow globes, angels, awards and so
much more.
This Committee is open to invitation only.
Anyone interested in joining this committee
may be required to create samples for the
Garden's Graphic
Studio which show cases our committee's
work.
The Garden of Friendship Guestbook
Committee is responsible for visiting both
members and non-members who sign the Garden
of Friendship Guestbook. They monitor our
guestbook closely to make sure everyone gets
a return visit from the Garden of Friendship.
We want all visitors to feel special even
if they had a short visit with us! On occasions
when the Garden of Friendship Guestbook has
not been signed within a week, the Guestbook
Committee is responsible for viewing non-member
websites of their choice and leaving a message
in the guestbook on behalf of the Garden of
Friendship Guestbook Committee.
This Committee is comprised of members
who wish to promote pride in being a member
of the Garden of Friendship. The Committee members
visit all of the lovely sites of our Garden
members to insure that they haven't had any
difficulty placing and linking their Proud Member
Plaque in accordance with the Rules and Regulations
of the Garden. Committee members also show appreciation
and special recognition on behalf of the Garden
to those Garden members who have made Garden
of Friendship Dedication pages by leaving them
a surprise when they may least expect it! Members
also make sure that all Garden member's sites
remain in compliance with the family safe requirements
throughout their membership.
The Newsletter Committee plays an
important role in The Garden of Friendship by
keeping members up to date on what is happening
through our monthly publication, "
The Friendship Times". They also feature
many informative and inspiring articles, committee
news, announcements and much, much more...
The newsletter is published once a month.
The newsletter is designed to provide information
to all the members. The information on the
newsletter ranges from very serious material
to ridiculous articles or tidbits. The editor
starts gathering material immediately after
the last publication and ensures that the
content is accurate when needed and that the
material is of use to the members.
The Pet Lovers Committee is a place for members
to share their pets and experiences with pets.
They will share tips on training, grooming,
and different things they have learned from
owning pets.
There will be a memorial
wall for pets that have passed over the rainbow,
photo and story sharing.

The Garden of Friendship Poetic Expressions Committee is responsible
for maintaining the Garden's "Poetic Expressions" website. Committee members submit
poetry each month based on a theme and a monthly contest inviting Garden members
to vote for their favorite poem. Committee members also work together to develop
their writing skills and assist one another with their work. Members joining
the Poetic Expressions Committee must have no less than 5 poems
on their personal website that they have written themselves.
The Quilters Committee is responsible for
designing, organizing and maintaining all
the Garden of Friendship quilts, as well as
helping create the squares used in these
quilts for any Garden member who is
'graphically challenged.' Each quilt is
based on a different theme.
We also create Special Occasion Quilts which
are sent out to Garden members to help them
celebrate their 'big days' ~ birthdays, anniversaries,
weddings, and births.
If you enjoy making quilt squares, have the
time to make a few squares each week, and
have a working knowledge of PSP
or another graphics program.
then we'd love to have you join us!
Though this committee may not
require much of your time, you are expected
to remain active.
You will be required to participate in the sharing of Recipes.
Though this committee may not
require much of your time, you are expected
to remain active.
You will be required to vote on a weekly
basis for a Site of the Week award, as well
as once a month for a Site of the Month
award and for the GOF Dedication Site of
the Month. If you want to have the
opportunity to view all of our members
beautiful sites, and you have some spare
time, this is the committee for you!
The Site Review Committee is
charged with the responsibility of reviewing
any and all the Membership applications
received by the Garden. One of the
committees checks that the site applying for
membership is compliant with the rules and
regulations of the group. At the same time,
the committee looks for inappropriate
material, broken links and content.
The Special Friends Committee makes
sure every member of the Garden of Friendship
has a friend. Committee members often surprise
their care group members with e-mail messages,
cards, adoption or graphic gifts, but most
importantly they extend the gift of friendship.
Each GOF member is assigned to a Special
Friends Committee member, and that committee
member will keep in regular contact with
the people in his/her "care group". Many
online friendships are made and maintained
in this manner ... and this is what the
Garden of Friendship is all about!
We are the celebration committee.
When an active member has a special
occasion, whether it be a birthday,
anniversary, new baby, or wedding, we help
them celebrate by collecting gifts,
guestbook signatures and displaying them on
specially designed pages.
Members of this committee MUST be able to
create web pages, and must be able to meet
strict deadlines. These pages must be ready
on time, we can't let our Garden Members
down. This committee brings great joy to our
members through the special pages they
create.
The TLC Committee prides itself on always
being there when a Garden Member is in need.
The TLC Committee spreads sunshine into the
lives of members who are feeling down, and
helps to lift their spirits.

The Welcoming Committee welcomes new members to The Garden of Friendship. We visit
the new members home pages and leave them a welcoming message & gift in their
guestbook, or some prefer e-mailing the new members with a gift attached, or a
simple e-card. The group is full of a great bunch of friendly people that hail
from all over the world. So if you think this could be the right Committee for
you, then please join us.
