Depression
(Pattie)

Anyone can have/get depression. I suffer from depression, brought on by many events in my life.
You can be treated for depression, after talking with your doctor.

Most doctors will recommend counselling with a professional. They can evaluate you, your moods,
your symptoms, and may prescribe medication for you to take.

Some of these symptoms can give you a clue about if you are suffering from depressio
      • Can't sleep
      • Weight loss or gain some, people don't want to eat
      • Feeling guilty or restlessness
      • Can't concentrate
      • Bad thoughts. Thinking of suicide

I suffer from all of the above, but I found that being honest with my doctor, and getting
the necessary help can help. I was so depressed that I did want to end it all, but then I thought,
what about my family, my friends.

      Confusion set in....That didn't help.

After telling a close friend how I felt she suggested for me to tell my doctor. I did.

I have a councelor that comes to my home twice a week, it feels good to be able to talk about
my feelings. I can cry, but I find I feel a bit better after.
I am on a medication daily that is suposed to help my depression. unfortunately the meds usually
take 4-6 weeks to get into your system and work. We shall see.

Depression is a serious Medical Condition, and should not be overlooked.

From what I understand, Depression effects 1 out of 6 people worldwide.

My doctor tells me that depression is something that just won't go away....it needs to be treated.

He also said it is believed to be a chemical imbalance of the brain, and that is where the
      medication comes to place.

Remember, depression will not disappear overnight, it's up to you, your doctor, therapist,
and how well your medications work.

I have provided some links for you, and I hope you always get advice from your doctor first.
