National Adoption Month
(Boomboom)

We all say and I personally feel that whether we believe in god or not we must believe in our parents. Parents who give us life. Parents who raise us and make us into the good human beings as we are now. Conversely parents too feel that their children are god's gift to them. And its not necessary that these gifts need to be given birth. They can be adopted too. After all what better way to serve god than to raise his gift into a wonderful person.
People adopt for various reasons. The most common reason being when someone is not capable of conceiving a child. Also there has been instances where a family has adopted a child after having another child.
No matter what the reasons a proper background verification and check must be done for prospective parents. This is to ensure that the child is not put into a family which wants to adopt the child for any wrong intentions. However care must be taken that due to these checks not too much red tape must be encountered by the parents.
Many countries still dont have proper laws in place related to adoption especially in the case of single parent who wish to adopt or same sex couples. If a single parent can care well and can provide a proper homely atmosphere for the child then no obstacles in the path of adoption. The same holds true for same sex couples.
Again many countries have some archaic laws whereby different rights are given over the children to parents of different religions. All these should be removed.
November 2008 is designated as National Adoption Month is USA to raise awareness regarding adoptions. The month is used to let people know and inspire them in putting children into permanent homes from foster care.
