As the Garden of Friendship celebrates it’s 11th Birthday, I reflect back over the years. I remember back to 2000 when the Garden of Friendship was just a dream and I planted the first seed. I never imagined, after all these years, we’d still be here and be so strong.

GOF has seen many changes in the last 11 years, as have many of us in our personal lives. We have had members come and go. We have shared triumphs and tribulations. We have supported one another through good times and bad and together we have grown stronger.

As we move into our 12th year, I want to thank YOU, the members of GOF because without you, the Garden of Friendship would not exist. The Garden of Friendship relies on the involvement of our members and your contributions contribute greatly to our success. Many online groups have come and gone in the last 11 years and the Garden of Friendship remains. I have always credited this to the participation of our members and our wonderful leadership team.

To our Committee and Group leaders and assistants, thank you for the extra dedication you pour into your leadership roles. Some of these positions require hours of your time each week and your hard work and dedication it so greatly appreciated.

To our Garden Keepers, Alita, Ann, AussieWendy, Cheri, Dusty, JusKuntree and Tammy, my deepest thanks go to each of you. Each of you pour your heart and soul into the Garden, and share the same passion. Your contributions and dedication are endless and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I look forward to many more years of friendship in the Garden. Many of the friendships that have been formed within our Garden gates will last a lifetime and are truly forged as strong as steel. If you have not had an opportunity to get to know any other GOF members, I challenge you to make a new friend, you won’t regret it.
